Senate President Appoints Clerk to Key
Budget Post
Clerk & Comptroller Sharon Bock has been appointed by Senate President Jeff Atwater to the Executive Council of the Florida Clerks of Court Operations Corporation (CCOC). The CCOC reviews and certifies clerks’ court-related proposed budgets that fund the operations of the 67 clerk of court offices in the State of Florida.
Bock, whose November appointment was effective immediately, will be actively involved in implementing legislation passed in May that requires all clerk budgets be approved by the state legislature. Under the new legislation, each clerk submits their proposed budgets to the CCOC, which then makes a budget presentation and recommendation to the legislature.
“I am honored to have this opportunity to participate in the clerks’ budgeting process at the state level,” said Bock.
In addition to being a Supreme Court Certified Clerk, Bock has extensive experience as an attorney, business owner, and financial consultant with securities license series 7, 63 and 65. She is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF). Bock is currently serving her second four-year term as Clerk & Comptroller of Palm Beach County, the third largest clerk’s office in Florida. She was first elected to the office of Clerk of the Circuit Court in November 2004. For more information, visit the Clerk & Comptroller’s Web site.
