E-Mail UsThe Clerk & Comptroller believes in promoting a safe, secure and healthy work environment for all employees. The following are some of the programs in place to ensure that such an environment is maintained.
Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a service offering free, confidential and professional assistance to the Clerk & Comptroller's office employees and their immediate family members. In the event that employees experience problems ranging from emotional, stress and financial problems to legal and health problems, employees may contact the EAP office for support and assistance.Drug-Free Workplace Program
It is the intent of the Clerk & Comptroller to discourage drug abuse and provide a safe and pleasant working environment. All applicants will be tested for drugs prior to being hired. In addition, the Clerk conducts other lawful testings for drugs and alcohol. Some positions in the Clerk & Comptroller's office are designated "safety-sensitive", which means incumbents will undergo routine fitness-for-duty exams including a physical exam and a drug screen.Smoke Free Environment
In accordance with the Florida Clean Air Act, all office locations of the Clerk & Comptroller's office are smoke free.Emergency Evacuation Plans & Procedures
All employees receive a copy of Emergency Evacuation Plans and Procedures for their work location during orientation. Additionally, periodic refresher classes are conducted on proper procedures in the event of an emergency.Worker's Compensation
In compliance with the Florida Worker's Compensation Program, all employees are covered by worker's compensation benefits as of the first day of employment. Worker's compensation is managed through the Division of Risk Management of Palm Beach County.
