The annual presentation, based on the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), will provide an overview of the County’s financial health as of the end of FY2009. This presentation provides a chance to stimulate public dialogue on county finances as officials start making budget decisions for next year. It will address the increase in select county expenses, decrease in revenues, upward trend in debt, effects of economy on investments and other key financial factors.
Clerk Bock also will release the fourth edition of Checks & Balances: Your Guide to County Finances, an easy-to-read report that puts information about County revenue and spending right at citizens’ fingertips. This user-friendly guide, produced annually by the Clerk & Comptroller’s office, offers citizens a roadmap to understanding their county government, answering questions about how taxpayers’ money is spent, effects of the sluggish economy, the impact of tax reform, and much more. An online version will be available soon on the Clerk’s Web site, www.mypalmbeachclerk.com.
