Transfer of Lien to Bond
Effective October 1, 2015: When depositing cash to transfer to security, a registry fee at a rate of 3% for the first $500.00 and 1.5% for each subsequent $100.00 percent is required. Find out more.

Mailing Fees
Hard-copy documents submitted for recording will not be returned without one of the following: a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) OR payment for the proper return postage and cost for a return envelope (see mailing fees chart for more information).

Documents to be recorded may be submitted electronically (eRecording) or in hard copy at the Recording Department in room 4.2500 of the Main Courthouse. This is the only office where hard copy documents may be recorded. However, documents may be dropped off at our Palm Beach GardensDelray BeachBelle Glade or Royal Palm Beach branch offices to be forwarded at no additional charge to the main office for recording.

Self-addressed, stamped envelopes are required for hard copy documents submitted for recording. See mailing fees chart for more information.

Documents are “recorded” and become Official Records of Palm Beach County.  The public can view these documents at the Main Courthouse or online through a public access search.*

Declaration of Domicile

A “Declaration of Domicile” is a legal document that defines where you reside and intend to maintain your permanent and principal home; and declares that you are a bona fide resident of the State of Florida.

Palm Beach County's domestic partnership registry is maintained by the Clerk & Comptroller's Recording Department.

Escrow Accounts

The Clerk & Comptroller provides non-interest bearing escrow accounts for payment of Recording and other services, such as Index/Photocopy fees.

Notice of Commencement

Florida law requires a “Notice of Commencement” to be recorded by the county and/or city before activities begin (such as renovations, building of a pool, etc.).

Transfer of Lien to Bond

If you wish to transfer a lien to bond, you must provide a recorded copy of the Claim of Lien being bonded together with a cashier's check pursuant to Chapter 713 of the Florida Statutes.
