Recording
The Recording Department is located in room 4.2500 of the Main Courthouse. This is the only office where documents may be recorded. However, documents may be dropped off at any branch location to be forwarded at no additional charge to the main office for recording.
Documents are “recorded” and become Official Records of Palm Beach County. The public can view these documents at the Main Courthouse or online through a public access search.*

Declaration of Domicile
A “Declaration of Domicile” is a legal document that defines where you reside and intend to maintain your permanent and principal home; and declares that you are a bona fide resident of the State of Florida.

Palm Beach County's domestic partnership registry is maintained by the Clerk & Comptroller's Recording Department.

Escrow Accounts
The Clerk & Comptroller provides non-interest bearing escrow accounts for payment of Recording and other services, such as Index/Photocopy fees.

Notice of Commencement
Florida law requires a “Notice of Commencement” to be recorded by the county and/or city before activities begin (such as renovations, building of a pool, etc.).

Transfer of Lien to Bond
If you wish to transfer a lien to bond, you must provide a recorded copy of the Claim of Lien being bonded together with a cashier's check pursuant to Chapter 713 of the Florida Statutes.
