Borrower Names Now Indexed

The Recording Department is now indexing all party names, including borrower names contained in an instrument (Florida Statute 28.222(2)).

The instruments most affected are Assignments of Mortgage, Subordinations of Mortgage and other related loan documents, as well as remainderman interested parties on Life Estate and Enhanced Life Estate conveyances.

This will impact fees assessed for indexing. Per Florida Statute 28.24(12)(c), instruments recorded in the Official Records that contain more than four party names will incur an additional indexing fee of $1 per name for names five and above.
