More than 1,000 gift items donated to children across Palm Beach County

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (Dec. 18, 2019) – More than 250 local children will receive a holiday gift package filled with new shoes, socks, underwear and a toy, all donated by employees with the Clerk & Comptroller, Palm Beach County.

The Clerk & Comptroller’s team once again partnered with Back to Basics, a Wellington-based nonprofit, to provide the basic necessities for children in need across our community. Clerk employees donated more than $10,000 in gift items to 256 children participating in the charity’s Angel Program. The children, who are between the ages of 4 and 11, were nominated by school officials and other service agencies.

“We are proud of the partnerships we’ve built with local nonprofits to support charitable programs that improve the lives of those in need,” said Clerk & Comptroller Sharon R. Bock, Esq. “Giving is a part of our culture at the Clerk’s office, and it is an honor to lead a team that is so dedicated to helping others.”

This is the third consecutive year the Clerk & Comptroller has partnered with Back to Basics. Since 2017, Clerk employees have donated $29,000 in gift items through the Angel Program.

In addition to the holiday packages, the Clerk & Comptroller’s team also donated $2,130 to Back to Basics through the office’s Dress Down Program. In exchange for a $10 donation to the nonprofit, employees are able to wear jeans to work on Mondays in December.
