Text Scam

Fake Text Messages Demand Payment for Traffic Tickets

Post Date:05/27/2025 10:55 AM

Fake text message claims to be from the DMVA common phishing scam involves fake text messages claiming to be from the Department of Motor Vehicles, law enforcement or other official agency.

The message requests immediate payment of an outstanding traffic ticket to avoid license suspension and other penalties. The text includes a link to a fake web address that may look similar to the official FLHSMV domain.

These messages are a scam – do not click on the link.

If you are unsure whether you have outstanding tickets in Palm Beach County, you can search our online system at www.mypalmbeachclerk.com/ecaseview or call (561) 355-2996. If you think you may have been the victim of a scam, contact your local law enforcement agency.
