For security purposes, you must use a VPN (virtual private network) to access eCaseView from outside of the United States.  The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s office does not explicitly endorse a specific VPN. Any VPN that simulates the user’s traffic as originating in the United States should be sufficient to access eCaseView and eCertify. Here is one option:

1. Navigate to https://account.protonvpn.com/signup/account and select Get Free to create a ProtonVPN account.
2. Follow the steps on the page to create an account.
3. Once your account is created, select the appropriate ProtonVPN Client depending on what kind of computer you are using (Windows/Linux/MacOS, etc.) to download the VPN.
4. Install the application.
5. Open the application and sign in.
6. Once signed in, select to use the United States on the left side of the application as your IP country of origin.

Images of case documents from late 2008 forward are also viewable online.

No, there is no charge for this service. You may view and print uncertified documents from your own computer for free. Electronic certified court documents may be ordered online for $8 per document plus 3.5% payment processing fee.

No, you do not need to register to use eCaseView to search for most case information and view certain documents. Anyone can use eCaseView, without registering, to search by name, case number, citation number, offense date, court type, or case type.

Registered users are able to search by additional criteria: date of birth, incident number, arrest date, booking number and driver’s license number.

Only registered users or the attorney of record can see document images for the following case types.

• Mental Health
• Guardianship
• Probate

Attorneys who register as users and include their Bar number will have the same advanced search options as other registered users, plus they will be able to see driving records for cases in which they are the attorney of record. The latest version of the free Adobe Reader is recommended for viewing document images. Document images are in PDF format.

On older systems or those using older software, users may have difficulty printing document images.

After performing a search and locating the desired case, you may select the Court Events tab to display the relevant court information, including date, time, and location. Court events are used in limited cases, such as criminal, small claims and domestic violence. If you are unable to find a court date under the court event tab, please review the docket for possible hearing notices.

Within each screen, if the data is displayed in columns and the column heading is underlined, it may be sorted. Place your mouse over the column heading and click to sort in ascending order, click again to sort in descending order.

Within a court case, there are many court events that do not generate a document but are displayed on the case docket. There will be no associated image for these events. Or, your security access could prohibit you from seeing the image.

Case data in eCaseView goes back to approximately 1976. Document images are available beginning in late 2008. Case data and images are maintained pursuant to Florida’s retention rules. Therefore, some older information or documents may have been purged from the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s systems.

Certain documents that could likely contain protected information will initially be “Viewable on Request” (VOR) only and must be reviewed by Clerk staff before they are made available online.

Florida law contains provisions that protect the display of certain information in court case records on publicly available Internet websites. In accordance with Florida Statute and the Florida Rules of Judicial Administration, the following information may be eligible for redaction:

• Social Security numbers
• Bank account numbers
• Credit or debit card numbers
• Victim information
• Minor’s name when a victim in specific criminal charges
• Clinical, medical and health records
• Other items as specified by law

The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller uses both electronic and manual processes to redact, or black out, protected information contained in court documents posted online. If such information is inadvertently released, it should be reported so that the images of these documents can be redacted on the website.

To request redaction of protected information from documents on the public website, contact the Clerk’s office at eCaseView-Support@mypalmbeachclerk.com. Include the case number, document name and date, document page number and type of confidential information contained in the document to be reviewed.

Documents that are “in processing” and have a clock icon are waiting for the "View on Request" (VOR) process to complete.

While a VOR document is being reviewed, a clock icon will be shown. Any user may click on the clock icon to request email notification when the document is ready to view online. Or, you may check back later to see if the document has become available.
