Beware of Calls Asking for Immediate Payment to Avoid Arrest
Scammers are attempting to trick local residents into paying money by claiming they have an outstanding warrant for arrest.
We have received calls from customers saying a person identifying himself as Sgt. William Maloy of PBSO called and told them they have an outstanding warrant. He said they must pay over the phone immediately or PBSO will be at their home in five minutes to arrest them.
This is a scam. If you receive one of these calls, hang up and call local law enforcement. If you have questions about whether you have a court case in Palm Beach County, call our office at (561) 355-2996.
