Juveniles who received their first sexting citation will receive a court date and must provide proof of completion of one of the following sanctions.
- Eight hours of community service - Visit the 15th Judicial Circuit Court for more information.
- An online cyber safety course - Visit Career Safe for recommended courses.
- Pay a $60 fine to the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller Palm Beach County.
Sexting citation fine payments must be made via check, cash or credit card in-person at the Juvenile front counter located in the Unified Family Court department in room 3.2200 of the Main Courthouse.

Upon submitting proof of completion, the Court may decide to cancel the Juvenile's hearing and close the case. The Court Case Manager will contact the Juvenile if the hearing is canceled. If the Juvenile does not complete one of the sanctions or is not notified that their hearing has been canceled, the Juvenile is required to attend the court hearing previously scheduled.
Sexting Citations: What Happens Next
Additional Sexting Violations
For Juveniles with subsequent sexting violations:
- A second sexting violation is a first-degree misdemeanor.
- Three or more sexting violations is a third-degree felony.
