The first step to apply for a marriage license is to complete the required information for each applicant using our online Marriage & Domestic Partnership Kiosk.

• Click on the Marriage & Domestic Partnership Kiosk link.
• You must acknowledge under penalty of perjury that both applicants have read the Florida Family Law Handbook. Choose “Yes” at the bottom of the screen to acknowledge. 
• Click on “Continue to Marriage Application.”
• If you have completed a pre-marital course, please select the checkbox located at the top left-hand side of the page. You must present a certificate of completion from the provider at the time of issuance of the marriage license.
• Complete the information for both party 1 and party 2.
  • If your place of birth is not listed in the dropdown, you can type it in.
  • When entering the number of this marriage, enter 1 if this is your first marriage, 2 if this is your second marriage, etc.
• After all applicable fields are completed, click submit.
• You will receive a transaction number. Please bring the transaction number with you when you arrive for your in-person appointment.

After you have submitted all required information using the online Marriage Kiosk, you are ready to schedule your in-person appointment.

• Click on the Request an In-Person Appointment link*
• Select the desired location where you wish to schedule your appointment
• Select the service you wish to receive (marriage license, ceremony or both if you are eligible)
• Select your desired date & time
• Enter your contact information

Bring the following to your marriage license appointment:

• The transaction number you received from the Marriage Kiosk (in step 1)
• Pre-marital course certificate of completion (if applicable)
• Valid state/government issued ID or passport for each party

Both applicants must be present to have the marriage license issued unless one is incarcerated or hospitalized.

After the marriage ceremony, the officiant (pastor, priest, minister, notary public, etc.) must fill out and sign the marriage license. The marriage license must then be dropped off or mailed to one of our office locations to be recorded in the Official Records. A certified copy of the marriage license will be mailed to the couple once it is recorded.
