To view a marriage license recorded in Palm Beach County, search the Official Records online. Uncertified copies may be printed on your own printer for free. Certified copies may be ordered online* or from the Clerk's Records Service Center.

The certified copy of your marriage license is the legal document needed to change your name with the Social Security Administration, the Division of Motor Vehicles, your banking institution, your employer, credit card accounts, etc.

If your marriage license was obtained in another county or state, you must search the records in that county or state.

Where do I go to get a marriage license application?

You may request an appointment to apply in person at any Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller location. Note, you must use the Chrome, Edge or Safari web browser to request an appointment to apply in person.

Couples who are unable to do an in-person appointment may be eligible to apply for a marriage license entirely online only after meeting additional requirements.
What are the requirements for a marriage license?
Both parties must apply in person and each must provide one of the following forms of identification:
- Driver’s license
- Federal or state identification card
- Passport showing your name and date of birth
- Birth certificates or green cards are NOT acceptable for identification.
Additionally, both parties must read the Family Law Handbook prior to obtaining a marriage license.
If one or both parties were previously married, are there additional requirements?

You must provide the exact date that the marriage ended and how it was ended. Documentation (for death, divorce, annulments, etc.) is not required.
Do I have to be a resident of Florida to apply for a marriage license?

Non-residents of Florida may apply for a marriage license. The 3 day wait period is waived for non-residents of Florida (both persons must present valid out-of-state ID). However, you must get married in the State of Florida by a person authorized to perform weddings in accordance with Florida Statute 741.07.
Do I have to have a blood test?

No.
What do I do with my marriage license after the ceremony?

After the marriage ceremony, the officiant (pastor, priest, minister, notary public, etc.) must fill out and sign the marriage license. The marriage license must then be dropped off or mailed to one of our office locations to be recorded in the Official Records. A certified copy of the marriage license will be mailed to the couple once it is recorded.
How can I obtain copies or certified copies of my marriage license, after I am married?

You may search Palm Beach County's Official Records online and print an uncertified copy on your own printer for free. Certified copies may be ordered online* or obtained from the Clerk's Records Service Center at the Main Courthouse or from one of our branch locations. If your license was obtained in another county or state, you must search the records in that county or state.
Is there a waiting period for the marriage license to become valid?
There is a three (3) day waiting period after applying, if one or both of you are a Florida resident.

To waive the three (3) day waiting period and have your license immediately valid:
- Both parties must attend and complete a premarital course from a registered provider
- You must provide the certificate of completion when applying for your license
How long is my marriage license application valid?

You must get married within 60 days, or the application is not valid.
